Hi, I’m Gitti—the maker behind Cinder Ceramics.
Originally from Germany and now based in California, I work out of a beautiful, light-filled studio just a few blocks from my home. I handcraft personalized pottery and sculptural pieces that help mark life’s most meaningful moments—weddings, births, anniversaries, and quiet daily rituals. I feel incredibly lucky to spend my days shaping clay and even luckier when those pieces find their way into your homes.
Everything I make is created slowly and by hand. Whether it’s a keepsake heart or a sculpted witch, I try to give each piece a sense of soul and presence. I was honored to be featured as an artist with Anthropologie, but I’m most grateful every time someone chooses one of my pieces to celebrate something—or someone—they love.
My German roots instilled in me a deep respect for craftsmanship, simplicity, and enduring design—values I bring into every piece I create.
Sustainability is also an important part of my process. I fire in a small electric kiln, batch thoughtfully to reduce energy use, and ship using biodegradable or recyclable materials wherever I can.
